Want to be a Penguin Interpretation Guide?

Volunteer Penguin Interpretation Guides are needed at the Burnie Penguin Centre and Lillico Beach Conservation Area.

If you are willing to commit some time during the evening to talk to local, state and international visitors about Little Penguins and the journey they have to make to get to shore, to lay and hatch eggs, and bring up hungry penguin chicks, then this is your opportunity!

The Friends of Burnie Penguins and Friends of Lillico Penguins invite you to join them, take part in training and help protect our unique Little penguins.

‘Being a penguin interpretation guide is a rewarding and fun experience. You get to take a glimpse into the secret lives of Little Penguins and share the joy of seeing them waddle up to their nests to feed the chicks and socialise with their partners.’

Training in penguin biology and interpretation will be provided for new and existing volunteers on Saturday 6 September at Burnie. Presenters are Sam Cuff, Interpretation and Education Officer, PWS and Perviz Marker, Friends of Burnie Penguins.

RSVP’s are essential by Friday 29 August

Please contact Evelyn DeVito on 6435 1102 or Anna Wind on 6431 6285 or email and more information will be provided.
