Terms and Conditions
This writing competition is run by the 2019 North West Ecofest.
Entry is open to all school students within Tasmania. The competition is divided into a Primary School and Secondary School sections. Who can enter this competition? Entry into the competition means that the entrant warrants that he or she meets the entry requirements and accepts these terms and conditions.
3. Time frame
The competition is open from 1 February 2019 and closes at 23:59 29 March 2019.
Entries are to be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org with the Subject line: Essay Competition Primary or Essay Competition Secondary depending upon the enrollment of the student. Each entry should include: The name of the entrant, their school and the teacher to be notified of a placement in the results.
Entrants are limited to one entry per person.
5. Costs and expenses
Cost of entry is free. Entrants are responsible for any and all expenses that they incur in entering the competition and that they will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not they win the competition.
6. Intellectual property
All entrants warrant that he or she has all necessary rights to provide the intellectual property to North West Ecofest 2019 and consent to any act or omission which would otherwise constitute an infringement of their intellectual property. All entrants maintain copyright over their work and license a one time use of their entries in a podcast of the judges choice.
North West Ecofest maintains the right to disqualify any entrants or entries where North West Ecofest reasonably suspects any unlawful or improper conduct, such as infringing a third party’s intellectual property rights, or if there has otherwise been a breach of the competition terms and conditions.
All information relating to the entrants, including but not limited to, names, their email addresses, schools and teachers will be held safely and not dispersed to other parties.
Winners will be notified through the North West Ecofest Facebook page from 6 April 2019 and by email through their educational institution.
First, second and third place winners will have receive a certificate and have their essays published on either the Permaculture Plus Podcast (The Primary School Section) or the World Organic News (The Secondary School Section) podcast.
